BC Buy Local Program

The government of British Columbia is investing $2 million to help B.C. producers and processors promote local foods. The funding supports local businesses and organizations launch or expand their marketing campaigns, and allows B.C.’s diverse food industry to use customized promotions specific to their market and needs.

Eligible organizations include associations, cooperatives, marketing boards, Aboriginal groups, businesses and non-profit organizations. Projects could include in-store promotions, social media or web campaigns, traditional advertising and on-product labelling.

Building the local market for B.C. foods is a key commitment of government’s Agrifoods Strategy, a component of the B.C. Jobs Plan, to lead the agrifoods sector growth into a $14-billion-a-year industry by 2017.
